A spin off to our Healthy & Delicious Easy Weeknight Meals class, this class features five basic favourites to fill your week. Never be stuck for dinner ideas again. Whether you are cooking for one, two or the whole family, this class will equip you with the basics for you to tweak and get creative with time and time again.  

Covering all delicious bases: stir-fry, rice,  eggs, soup & curry.  Not only will this class provide you with brand new ideas to spice up your cooking creations at dinnertime and refresh your meal plan, you will also learn top tips and tricks from our expert chefs for faster cooking as well as how to choose and cook with fresh, local produce.

The cooking class typically covers four to five meals, using a selection of different proteins and vegetables. The types of dishes you will be cooking all depend on what ingredients are in season, ensuring you can come back throughout the year to try new dishes.

Sample Dishes Include:

  • Beef & Noodle Stir Fry with fresh seasonal vegetables
  • Barramundi Curry from scratch
  • Chicken & Chorizo Paella
  • Shakshuka - baked eggs
  • Pumpkin, ginger, coriander soup

 

We specialise in hands-on, informative and interactive cooking classes. Enjoy learning in our start of the art, comfortable and fully equipped kitchen. Our small group sizes ensure everyone is involved in the action and welcome to ask the chef any questions through out the class. Our engaging and professional chefs enjoy inspiring you to feel confident and more creative in the kitchen.  Using only the freshest of ingredients, some dishes will be demonstrated by the chef and others will be hands-on for you to cook at your own cooking stations working in pairs. You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy all the dishes prepared and welcome to take any leftovers home (containers provided). Recipes of all the dishes will be provided at the end of the class.

 

What to bring? 

You do not need to bring anything along as we provide aprons for use, drinking water and a glass of wine to enjoy with your meal.

Classes are run frequently and the menu will change seasonally so that you can keep coming back to learn more and more dishes to impress! (If you have attended a class previously, please let us know which menu you enjoyed to avoid doubling up on recipes).

Sydney Cooking School opened in 2010 when Executive Chef Brett Deverall  pursued his dream to share his love and passion of cooking in a fun and relaxed learning environment. Offering a range of cooking classes daily, our Neutral Bay venue is fitted with state of the art appliances and equipment from Fisher & Paykel, KitchenAid, Breville, Solidteknics, Furi and Anolon.

Our experienced and passionate team take pride in teaching practical, entertaining and informative cooking classes, team building events or hosting your next event or celebration.  We offer something for everyone from the absolute beginner to the more passionate cook with many International cooking classes, barbecue classes, dessert & baking workshops , short courses and kids cooking classes throughout the school holidays.

  • British trained Paul Pereira has worked extensively in the UK and Asia throughout his career. From creating banquets for 400 and running the bustling kitchen of a 320-cover restaurant in Singapore’s Conrad Centennial to crafting a Modern Australian menu and degustation menu at Forbes and Burton as head chef, authenticity and creativity are the keystones of Paul’s career. In 2013 Sydney Cooking School welcomed Paul as Head Chef running many cooking classes of Paul’s creation as well as the running the BBQ School and fabulous and intimate Dine With The Chef evenings.
