When established in 1991, Cathy-Lea was unique in its performing arts curriculum. 

30 years later, we are still striving to lead the way in performing arts education, offering programs that are educationally informed, responsive to children's diverse learning needs, and preparing graduates for the demands of the performing arts industry, in an environment that is positive, inclusive, encouraging and fun!

 

Our Aims:

  • To nurture students' passion for the performing arts.

  • To develop well-rounded performers with skills in a range of performing arts disciplines.

  • To train students to high technical standards so they can pursue careers in performing arts.

  • To offer students diverse performance opportunities including charitable and performance events.

  • To develop personal skills such as self-awareness, perseverance, resilience and confidence.

  • To instil inter-personal values such as commitment to others, empathy and teamwork.

  • To develop skills such as creativity, musicality, fitness, agility and co-ordination.  

  • To recognise all students regardless of ability or involvement level.

  • To discover, develop and display the dazzling ‘star’ in every student.

Ready Set Dance

Ready Set Dance is a one hour combo class that includes jazz, tap, hip hop, singing, music and a whole lot of Fun for girls and boys.

Twinkle Tots

Props, musical instruments and songs are used to create an engaging and exciting learning experience for the littlies.

Instrumental Music (Drums, Guitar, Piano)

Individual instrumental tuition is offered by specialist instrumental staff.  Classes are generally 30 minutes in duration. Shared lessons are offered by some teachers.

Group Singing

Small group singing classes are available for beginner-intermediate students. Students learn voice production, musicality and singing technique so they are able to use their voices effectively and tunefully.

Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre combines Acting, Singing and Dancing for students who want to develop their all-round performance skills.
