In this afternoon workshop with Nick, you will learn elements of design and character development. You’ll then put them to use by creating your own unique piece. No sewing skills are needed as the basics of sewing will be covered.

In store classes for Learn To Quilt and Learn to Sew are on now and being considered to start again in the fall of 2023. Now, just as it was back in 1983, Carellan’s goal is promoting excellence in home sewing, quilting, and machine embriodery.

Sewing Class course is offered by KTR Sewing Centre.

We offer a fresh selection of contemporary fabrics and innovative products to suit any sewing project. Additionally, we're always updating our inventory to meet the creative needs of the modern quilting community.

You will learn basic crochet stitches including chain stitch, slip stitch, single crochet and half double crochet while making the Brooklyn Ridge Hat by Ashleigh Kiser.  You will also learn the skills to finish your project.  If time allows you can start a second project of your choosing.

This popular class demands two sittings; you may join one or the other or both, to get a different pattern from the morning class. Tamara Klassen will lead you on an exploration of the craft of Sashiko, a Japanese hand-stitching technique used for centuries.

In each of the four classes you will learn a bit about one style including the materials used and the most common stitches.
