Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) courses provide critical training to Canadian healthcare professionals.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) courses provide critical training to Canadian healthcare professionals.
The Heart & Stroke ACLS course has been updated to reflect new science from the 2020 Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (2020 Guidelines for CPR and ECC).
ACLS builds on the foundation of basic life support (BLS) skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR.
This advanced course highlights the importance of preventing cardiac arrest, high-performance team dynamics and communication, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes.
The ACLS Provider Manual is designed for a single user and is required for all students taking an ACLS course. Students will use this book to progress through the course and as a reference tool before and after the classroom session.
The manual is printed in colour and includes the 3 ACLS Reference Cards set.
Most critical medical errors occur in Acute Care where team effectiveness can be the pivotal factor that determines the outcome for the patient. Until now, very little training provision has existed to rehearse team effectiveness.
Simulation addresses this training requirement in a way that no other training methodology can.Rare but critical and time-pressured events can be recreated in a simulation so that protocols can be established and communication problems can be identified and improved upon.
“Hello, you’re my first patient…” – preparing for those first times. In the current wake of growing public awareness of medical errors and a shift in both public and professional opinion that it is no longer acceptable to practice procedures and manage clinical events for the very first time on a patient, simulation can bridge the gap between textbook learning and those ‘first times’.
A simulated environment is safe and risk free for trainees to build their competence and confidence.
Participants enrolled in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) courses will learn the latest CPR and AED rescue techniques. At Calgary First Aid we offer Heart and Stroke Foundation Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) courses. This course is offered at both of our training locations.
Emergency care for victims of a cardiac arrest includes providing Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support as quickly as possible.
ACLS training (2-Day Training – Dual Certification (8am to 4pm)) includes, but is not limited to, emergency response, emergency medicine and intensive care unit personnel, such as physicians, nurses and paramedics.
The Heart and Stroke Foundations ACLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies.
Learn to quickly recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies with agility.
