Director General of Civil Aviation is a regulator and controls all the Civil Aviation Activities including Flight Crew and Aircraft Maintenance Engineering training in India.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is the choice of young aspirants who want to work on aircraft. This is a professional course and can be joined after passing 10+2 or equivalent qualification with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. The duration of course is three years.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is a person duly licensed by Director General of Civil Aviation, Govt. Of India, who certifies the aircraft fit for flight after inspection, repair etc and also before each flight.
SAST is managed by Aviators. The President Capt. Sanjay Kumar is a trained Pilot, ex alumnus of Delhi Flying Club. The Accountable Manager is Sqdr. Leader PJB Khorana, an Ex Indian Air Force Pilot, also a pilot of Aircrafts in civil sector and is an ex alumnus of Delhi Flying Club.
SAST has one Jet Aircraft (Lear Jet), One Cessna 152 and one Ralley aircraft for imparting practical training to students.
