Do you or the members of your team sometimes find it difficult to be assertive?

Being assertive is the key to building and maintaining productive relationships with clients, colleagues, line managers and subordinates alike.

All too often, people find it difficult to ask for what they want and end up being submissive, which can have an adverse effect on their morale, performance, respect, credibility, and feelings of self-worth.

At the other end of the spectrum, people can all too easily display aggressive behaviour to get things done or get their own way. Any results achieved usually come at the expense of other people.  That does not make for a good working environment or a high performing team.

The key is to therefore find a happy medium and achieve results at no cost to others.
