Rescue Plus provides lifesaving skills and certification programs that teach adults and children lifesaving skills. Our numerous First Aid and CPR programs teach the skills necessary to assess and treat an injured or ill patient until the medical help arrives.
As an authorized provider of Lifesaver 101’s First Aid & CPR courses, all Rescue Plus programs are in accordance with the approved standards set by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB Regulation 1101).
Rescue Plus has been facilitating First Aid, CPR, AED, WHMIS, and injury prevention training programs in the GTA & Durham Region since 1989. Our training director, Mary-Jo Wheeldon, has worked with the Workers Health and Safety Centre by facilitating the Young Workers Awareness Programs at GTA High Schools for over 15 years.
She is also a highly qualified trainer and speaker for Food Allergy Canada, formerly known as Anaphylaxis Canada.With a background in workplace safety and injury prevention, Rescue Plus tailors certification programs that help prepare participants in the area of their specialized skills.
Courses are geared to meet the requirements of the WSIB regulation 1101, the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
At this time we are currently running Blended Basic Life Support Provider and Renewal courses which meet all Alberta Occupational Health & Safety workplace requirements as well as Heart & Stroke Foundation training standards.

Basic Life Support training is designed for Health Care Providers such as doctors, nurses, paramedics or those who work in a health care field and require the Health Care Provider CPR-HCP certification.
Teaches the important steps to perform a rapid assessment, perform Basic Life Support (BLS) skills, and perform rapid defibrillation including use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
The course covers responding to an emergency; resuscitation for Adults, Children, and Infants; two-rescuer CPR for each all age groups; bag-valve mask use; and responding as part of a team.
