Non-accredited courses for absolute beginners or those sewers that need a bit of a hand. You may just enjoy sewing along with company when sewing your next project. We have some amazing and exciting workshops as well as unstructured sewing classes where there will always be help available when you are unsure of your next sewing step.

Deborah Cameron is the director of training at Atelier Melbourne and holds a Masters in Education and Training, TAE40016 and a bachelor degree in fashion design, pattern making and couture garment construction. She takes fashion garment longevity seriously and advocates for equality for diversity.
Our after school classes will introduce a love of sewing to those aged 9 and over, including teenagers. Our students learn a variety of basic skills from hand stitching to machine use and then go on to use that knowledge to create their own project.

In Sharon’s beginner course, you will learn many techniques including rotary cutting, accurate piecing, perfect pressing, attaching borders with precision and attaching continuous binding. Sharon shares many tips and tricks to enhance your quilt making skills.
Designed for the novice sewist, the Sew from Scratch 6 week beginners course helps participants to improve their confidence through a series of fun sewing projects. Start with getting to know your machine and move through to using patterns and basic garment construction.
