Catia's capabilities include 3d modeling, stress analysis, kinematics design, and surface modeling, among many other features. In this hands-on, applied workshop series, you will gain an understanding of the powerful functionality of catia v5, and will use the software to engage in authentic activities and solve real-world problems posed by industry partners.

Catia is a multi-platform software suite for computer-aided design, manufacturing, and engineering (CAD/CAM/CAE) used across many industries, including automotive, machine, tool, die and mold (MTDM), and aerospace, to develop the products we use in our everyday lives.

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • create engineering drawings using CATIA
  • create 3D objects using the Part Design workbench
  • assemble parts and create complicated aggregates of parts using the Assembly Design workbench
  • impose assembly constraints as a first step for designing mechanisms
  • create Design Tables for automation purposes in the Knowledge workbench

Students that successfully complete the program will receive a Certificate of Completion that reads: "CATIA Foundations".
