An Operating System (OS) is an interface between a computer user and computer hardware. An operating system is a software which performs all the basic tasks like file management, memory management. Process management, handling input and output, and controlling peripheral devices such as disk drives and printers.

• Data Structure: Basic terminology: elementary data organization, classification of data structures, data structure operations, algorithms, complexity of algorithms, record oriented fixed length storage, c program to compare two strings without using string functions.
• Computer Oriented Numerical & Statistical Methods:  Introduction to computer, errors, algebraic and transcendental equations, interpolation, numerical integration and differentiation, numerical solution of ordinary differential equations.
• Accounting & Management Control: The concepts of management accounting, and control, bringing it together management accounting and management control, the rol of a controller in a organization, the management control function in a corporation, management accounting vs. financial accounting.
• Data Communication: Various types of data representation techniques, data communication system, criteria for a data communication network, types of network topology, categories of network or type of computer network, HYBRID topology.
