This course is suitable for school leavers wanting a career in early years, primary, or teaching but not quite ready to study childcare at T Level. This course is for you if you would benefit from additional study time and preparation, before progressing to a T Level. The qualification will provide you with the knowledge and skills relating to the care and education of children aged 0-11 years 11 months.
You will cover a range of key concepts including child development, play and learning, exploring legislation, the role of the childcare practitioner, nutrition and physical development and physical activity.
You will undertake around 200 placement hours in an early years and primary setting where you will have to demonstrate your skills as an early year’s practitioner. You will also study GCSE Maths or English if you have not previously achieved a minimum of Grade 4.
