CompTIA A+ is the industry standard for starting a career in IT and is recognized the world over. This is the most trusted certification used by employers around the world to hire IT technical support and front-line technicians. CompTIA A+ includes two cores: Core 1 (220–1101) and Core 2 (220–1102)

Core 1 (220–1101) main objectives and topics covered by CompTIA are computer hardware, basic networking, mobile devices and OS, networking hardware, and network troubleshooting.

Core-1 covers: computer hardware recognition, installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Your knowledge of computer hardware, assembling computers, troubleshooting, and maintenance will be checked. Moreover, you will be tested for basic networking knowledge as well as the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot computer hardware and networking problems.

Core-2 covers: operating systems, including Windows operating systems; and other operating systems (Linux, Apple iOS, and Android). You will be tested for operating system features, security features, application installation and troubleshooting, and maintenance. You will demonstrate sound knowledge regarding installation, configuration, and troubleshooting, including updates and upgrade paths for operating systems. This core covers more about best practices, troubleshooting, and reporting.
