Counter Balance

Professional Counterbalance Training & Certification The Counterbalance Forklift can also be called the Sit-Down Counterbalance or Tow-Motor. This forklift is used extensively in loading and unloading freight from and to transport trucks. You can also use it to move goods within your facility. There is also a stand-up version of the machine that is almost identical to the one above, but the operator compartment can be used while standing. This is the Dockstocker or Standup Counterbalance.

There are many makes and models of counterbalance forklifts. There are machines that can be used indoors or outdoors to tackle rough terrain. There are many fuel options available, including propane-powered machines and diesel or electrically powered ones. The lifting mechanism is the same regardless of the fuel source. All machines rely on hydraulics to lift and perform their functions. Although the basic functions are the same for all trucks, the placement of controls and the overall feel of the machines may vary. With a little practice, you can learn to operate each one.
