DurationA sound knowledge of drawing is the foundation for success as a visual artist. Basic principles of drawing will be taught including line, light, shade and composition. We will work with vine charcoal and different grades of graphite as well as explore techniques and exercises that will help us gain a better understanding of how each material can be used. This is a fundamental course. No previous skills are required.

We have been providing visual arts classes to students of all skill levels and experience for over 50 years. CAC has become a top adult art education destinations within the North Texas area serving a range of students from teenagers to senior citizens and beginning to emerging artists.
Last year 1,500 students took more than 500 classes and workshops at CAC in ceramics, clay sculpture, drawing, fiber, fused glass, jewelry, metal sculpture, mixed media, mosaic, painting, printmaking and stone sculpture.
The majority of our teaching artists hold a Bachelor or Master of Fine Arts and have exhibited widely.
