We will work with vine charcoal and different grades of graphite as well as explore techniques and exercises that will help us gain a better understanding of how each material can be used. We have been providing visual arts classes to students of all skill levels and experience for over 50 years. CAC has become a top adult art education destinations within the North Texas area serving a range of students from teenagers to senior citizens and beginning to emerging artists.
Last year 1,500 students took more than 500 classes and workshops at CAC in ceramics, clay sculpture, drawing, fiber, fused glass, jewelry, metal sculpture, mixed media, mosaic, painting, printmaking and stone sculpture.

Anyone can draw… this means you! In this fun, step-by-step Online drawing class, aimed at total beginners, we’ll work our way through a number of exercises designed to train your eye, hand and imagination to work together as a unit, or a team.
Through instructor guided exercises you’ll be introduced to alla prima methods that help develop concentration, improve decision making while exploring the fundamentals of color, composition and paint application.
Students learn drawing techniques in many different mediums. These include but are not limited to pencil, charcoal, chalk and conte crayons on a variety of paper types.
This class serves as a bridge between our upper level Studio Art classes, Digital and our Anime & Comics courses, incorporating projects from both tracks to introduce students to many different styles of art, and help them find their strengths and interests.
Students will experience painting on various surfaces, large and small, with paints such as watercolor, acrylic, tempera, and oil.
