Course Details

The ability to understand and control one’s own emotions combined with the ability to manage relationships with others through recognizing and understanding other people’s emotions is integral to one’s personal and professional success.

Individuals with high emotional intelligence (EI/EQ) have strong relationships, manage difficult situations calmly and effectively, and are likely to be resilient in the face of adversity.

In this session, participants will assess their own EQ and learn how to effectively apply it in working with others and how to effectively incorporate so as to build and maintain strong working relationships at all levels of the organization.

Outcomes

On completion of this course, participants will:

  • Be able to define Emotional Intelligence and describe what it is and what it is not
  • Have a better understanding of themselves through the completion of an EQ-I 2.0 self assessment and debrief; and be able to describe the model, five competencies and 15 sub competencies and develop a high level action plan
  • Through practice of a case study, describe how leadership is linked to emotional intelligence
  • Have developed a strategy to use emotional intelligence to assist with managing conflict in the workplace
  • Acquire enhanced skills by using emotional intelligence to assist in leading a multigenerational workforce
