The UK industry is worth almost £5.89 billion and sales for games were greater than the video and music markets in 2016.Digital art, games design, animation and visual effects are just a few examples of career pathways available in this sector.

Technology has never been more sophisticated, and with constant innovation and advancement, there is a real need for talented individuals with the right skills and talents to keep the industry moving forward with new ideas and creativity.

The Digital Games revenue in the UK reached a record 3.5 billion US Dollars in Digital Sales in 2020 alone. The current number of players of games in the UK is 44.32 million in 2021 and predicted to rise above 50 Million by 2024. (Statista 2022)

What Will I Do?

This Games Animation & Visual Effects course is a great way to decide where you fit into the games, animation, and visual effects industry.

Whilst on the course you will look at the fundamentals of games, animation, and postproduction VFX such as lighting, sound, compositing and green screen effects.

Starting from Basic art skills, 2d, colour shade and composition, introduction to 3D, characters, environments, assets and developing ideas.

Game design, Game play and understanding target audiences. Using sound and artwork to create different worlds. We do all this whilst centred around project-based learning, there are no exams during the entirety of the course, but ongoing assessment and feedback.

If you have a passion for creation and you want new and exciting ways to apply your skills, then this course will enable you to realise your own ability to succeed in many exciting industries.

Some of the industry-standard applications we use include the Adobe Suite of tools such as Photoshop and Premier Pro. Zbrush, 3D Studio Max, Blender, Toon Boom Harmony (Animation Suite), Unity Game Engine, and much more.

You may want to use this course as a stepping-stone to university and we can help prepare you for this too. The Games Animation & Visual Effects course covers a lot but university is your opportunity to develop into a specialist so we can support you to take this next step.
