About Hindi Beginners
Learn the language and culture of the world's largest democracy. Through a variety of activities - speaking, reading, writing, listening - you will start to communicate in Hindi in everyday situations. Grammatical structures and vocabulary will be practised in a relaxed and enjoyable way.
This course will also introduce you to Indian culture and traditions and is suitable for those with little or no previous knowledge of Hindi. On completion of this course we expect that you will be able to speak some basic Hindi, remember some essential vocab, be starting to learn some simple grammar, have the basics of pronunciation, and have some idea of Indian culture and traditions.
The amount of revision undertaken between classes can have a large influence on the final outcome for individuals. Each week, the course will build upon itself. We ask students to revise material between classes. In addition, a short homework exercise is usually set.
