This course is designed to familiarize workers with basic Rigging and Slinging concepts, the proper uses of slings and associated rigging equipment as well as the proper pre-use inspection procedures for rigging equipment.
Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to identify hoisting and rigging equipment, and carry out safe hoisting and rigging during inspection, maintenance, and operation. No Expiry.
This six hour program is intended to provide participants with the knowledge required to recognize and assess hazards associated with overhead cranes, hoists and rigging and the appropriate control measures and safe work procedures to control or eliminate hazards.
Performing rigging operations safely is critical. Workers can be injured or killed if loads slip or rigging fails. This course covers the regulations, practices and techniques required to safely sling and rig loads.
Rigging training is 8 hours in duration and begins with a classroom theory component that is followed by a written exam.
