The course provides a fundamental understanding of hybrid electric vehicles powertrain design, power flow management, system integration, propulsion system modeling, simulation and analysis.
The course is geared towards Mechatronic systems design; starting from conceptual system-level requirements, followed by powertrain components design, system integration, and ending in verification and validation.
Concepts such as parameter estimation, optimization, filtering, and control theory will be applied to HEV/PHEV/BEV.

The EV skill program aims to offer a structured training path and recognized certification in the maintenance and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles to workers in the industry throughout Quebec.

This course will enhance the skill level and general knowledge of the student about hybrid and electric vehicles within their workplace environment.
This certificate provides an opportunity for students to learn about EVs within the context of engineering applications and expand their understanding of the technical and environmental implications of engineering in EV design.
