This is a 4-part sewing class:

Introduction to Sewing Clothes – Finishing Your Garment
Note:
If you plan to take the class, please make sure to register for EACH session in the series.
You will learn how to make a garment from knit/stretchy fabric from start to finish: Finding a pattern, deciphering the pattern, choosing the right fabric and notions, cutting the pattern to fit you, and finally garment construction.
We will cover different types of seam finishes and you will be able to use the serger and/or coverstitch machine to finish your garment. If you don’t already know how to operate a sewing machine, that’s ok! You will learn how to operate the machines here at Seattle Makers.
For this second session we will finish cutting out our pattern and start cutting out our fabric! We will also get familiarized with the sewing machines. The following two sessions are for completing your garment.

Whom it’s for:
Anyone aged 15+ (youth 15-16 must have a guardian present). No experience necessary. New sewers welcome!
What we’ll provide:
Sewing machines, pins, scissors, iron, ironing board.
What to bring:
A can-do attitude!
Seattle Makers is now located in Wallingford at 3300 Wallingford Ave North. We’re in the white building right next to the Wallingford Steps, up the hill from Gas Works Park. We still have a great view of the Space Needle too!
Each class will build on the next, starting with the smallest embroidery patterns. All embroidery machines are welcome but some of the larger designs will be too big for the smaller machines
Learn to cast on, knit, and purl. You can start a project if you are ready. For true beginners or if you are returning to knitting and need some refreshers. Classes are held at the San Diego Convention Center. There are NO cancellations or REFUNDS of classes for any reason. They can be transferred to another student. Please contact San Diego Quilt Show with the name of student. All Fees are final
