If you've never ever touched a sewing machine, or the last time was in junior high school home ec, this is the perfect workshop to develop some basic machine sewing skills. In addition to teaching you how to successfully thread a machine, we'll teach you the basics of sewing and provide shopping advice if you're in the market to buy one.
This class or equivalent experience is highly recommended before you sign up for beginner project classes.
Note: feel free to bring your own machine if you'd like to learn how to use it, otherwise we have have one for you!

In this workshop, you'll start by making one small block using Foundation Paper Piecing. Then you'll repeat that block three more times and join them all together at the end! All materials will be provided for you.

Join us in-person to make pillowcases for veterans that are part of the Road Home Program at Rush Hospital. The Road Home is dedicated to the mental health and wellness of veterans, service members, members of the National Guard, reservists and families.
In the Children’s Sewing Class, beginning and intermediate students will learn how to use their machine, take measurements , lay out and cut fabric, read a pattern, understand the pattern directions, finish seams and learn sewing techniques. Students will advance at their own pace.
