This course concentrates on the development of sculptural techniques and a thorough understanding of the tools of the trade, from different clay mediums to individual tool use and manipulation.

Ceramics Workshop is offered by Gallery on the Square.The Gallery on the Square is a retail art gallery which promotes local artists of all mediums.
We will be modeling clay figures from a live model. All poses will be standing. There will be six successive poses: six: three one week poses, two two week poses, and one three week pose. You will need an armature to do a standing figure.
Designed for students new to the medium, this course will provide the beginner with a strong foundation in the cross-cultural and historical importance, contemporary practice, and techniques in ceramics from simple hand-built forms to basic forms thrown on the wheel.
