This 16 hour course over 2 Days is widely regarded as the Gold Standard First Aid qualification for those working in the Outdoor Education Industry.
The course is very focussed on the likelihood that any first aid incident is probably in remote country with poor access, and that the weather will almost certainly be inclement. Participants have the opportunity to develop the skills they will need to care for casualties in that setting for an extended post incident period.
In that sort of scenario taking full account of one’s responsibilities for a group and a dynamic, ever-changing situation is essential. This is quite unlike the assumption made in most other courses that an ambulance will arrive in a few minutes.
On our Outdoor First Aid course all instruction is delivered by qualified First Aid Instructor/Assessors who are also full call out members of a Mountain Rescue Team with more than 100 years experience between them.
Our Instructors also hold Mountain Leader, Cave Leader, SPA (Rock Climbing), Ski Instructor and RYA Sailing Instructor qualifications. They are all very experienced Duke of Edinburgh Award Assessors and Supervisors.
Lancashire First Aid Training Ltd is Regulated by an Ofqual Awarding Body
This means that all our courses are Approved and Accredited by an Ofqual Awarding Body, (ITC First) who also provide all certification. The Awarding Body carry out annual unannounced External Quality Assurance checks on our courses and systems, ensuring that you as the customer can have confidence on your choice of First Aid training provider. The Awarding Body carry out all necessary checks on the qualifications of our trainers.
This means that as an employer you do not need to carry out the HSE Due Diligence checks, choosing a provider registered with an Ofqual Awarding Body meets that requirement in full.
Validated by Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC), an OFQUAL regulated awarding organisation, this qualification is required by any first aider who has an existing First Aid at Work certificate which is due to expire.
The First Aider at Work will be able to take control of an incident until a nurse, doctor or ambulance arrives, and is able to fulfil health and safety requirements for the HSE First Aid at Work certificate.
The Emergency First Aid at Work course is ideal for workplaces that present few health and safety risks and where a nominated person is required to take charge in the event of illness or accident.
The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work.
A basic first aid at work course that covers all the essentials to equip you with the knowledge and skill to maintain a safe working environment.
