Microneedling

Micro-needling, or dermal needling, is a process of using a manual roller or specially designed needle cartridge (used in a pen type device) with hundreds of tiny needles embedded in its surface to make tiny openings in the skin. This allows for deeper penetration of active products, such as hyaluronic acid serum to yield more beneficial treatment results.

Micro-needling actually strengthens the skin, stimulating epidermal and transforming growth factors that cause the skin to become thicker.Texture is smoother as a result of increased collagen and stimulated fibroblast activity, which allows for greater hydration within the tissues as well.

Stretch marks, wound scars and even hair loss can all be improved with dermal micro-needling due to the natural healing response that is stimulated by this treatment. In the case of stretch marks and wound scarring, the needling breaks down the tougher collagen fibrils that form in the case of more traumatic injury, and allows for normal, non-scar healing to take place. Hair loss may be reversed in many cases as the treatment stimulates new vascularization of the area, so increases delivery of nutrients via improved blood flow to the hair follicles. This in turn can aid growth of the follicles to a larger size which in turn produces a stronger hair strand.
