DurationThe Janice Luey Dance Co. will share our love of dance with our students, while mentoring and nurturing them. All of our teaching staff are parents or school teachers. We understand the needs of our students and we care for them like they are our own. Each class has an assistant teacher. We keep our classes to a maximum of 8 students, some having significantly less.
This truly gives our students the personalized attention they deserve. We do not start recital dances in September. Class time is focussed primarily upon learning. Musical theatre is a comprehensive triple threat program combining the art of singing, acting, and dancing. Drama games and exercises are used to promote improvisation and trust, ensuring that all of the dancers develop greater self-confidence when performing.
The program meets the needs for everyone from our young 6 and 7 year-olds loving movement and singing through to our seniors who regularly can be found on the stages of their high school musicals, Persephone and Global Theatre performances.Â
Musical theatre is a theatrical style that involves story telling through movements and song. It incorporates song, dramatic dance and acting. Dancers will lip sync and act out various songs.
