The National Assessment Collaboration (NAC) is an alliance of Canadian organizations that standardizes the evaluation process of International Medical Graduates (IMGs).
The NAC OSCE is now required for all Canadian medical residency programs (CaRMS®) They developed a comprehensive one-day exam called the NAC OSCE (Objective Standardized Clinical Examination) to qualify IMGs for residency positions in Canada.
Specifically, the exam tests an IMG’s skills in mock clinics using trained, standardized patients who present conditions that require a diagnosis.
A three day course with licensed dentists prepares candidates for the examination by teaching proven strategies to approach, to analyse and to answer questions for the OSCE.
The goal of the OSCE practice workshop is to provide training and preparation to Registered Nurses who have been mandated to take the official OSCE exam by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
This practical workshop is designed for candidates who are either making a first attempt at the OSCE or have previous unsuccessful attempts.
The workshop will NOT provide "bridging" or a content review of physical therapy practice in Canada, but rather strategies for any OSCE exam.
This course also gives a brief description of regulation in Alberta, and is geared in preparation for the inevitable OSCE examinations that RMT’s in Alberta will have to complete in the future.
