Piano/keyboard lessons are fun and easy for children and adults alike at the Esquimalt Music Centre.

Even after hundreds of years, the piano remains to be one of the most popular instruments with both students and parents alike.

The reason for this is the total versatility of the instrument. From the soft poetic lines of a Chopin nocturne to the classic rock riffs of Elton John, the piano continues to capture our imagination and affect our emotions.

From a learning prospective, the piano/keyboard is probably the most user friendly instrument to study because it is arranged in a very logical manner. At first glance it appears that the keyboard has at least 100 different notes, but the truth is -there are only seven!

The lowest note is an "A" and the one next to it is a "B". After C D E F G, the musical alphabet starts over again at "A" sounding the same notes over and over again at a higher pitch.

Over 20 years of service to the community! Since 1990, Peter Grealey has been teaching the drums, piano/ keyboard, guitar and bass at his home studio at the corner of Head and Wollaston street.

Conveniently located with lots of free parking, the E.M.C. is easily recognized by its unique piano fence and a large red music note on the side.

Peter first started teaching music at the age of 18 in Sudbury Ontario where he was raised. It was here that he studied piano at Cambrian College and later Laurentian University.

As well as teaching, Peter has been a professional musician for many years and has led his own rock, country, jazz and variety dance bands. Peter also performed as principal percussion in the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra for four years.
