This course is designed to help you explore your current situation and role as a family caregiver.
Alberta Caregiver College® is a virtual college dedicated to providing courses to enhance the knowledge and skills of caregivers to provide for their family member.
The educational programs were developed by the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, Alberta Health Services, with contributions from other partnering organizations in Alberta.
The individuals who developed the programs are educators and professionals in rehabilitation and geriatrics and include dietitians, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, physicians, psychologists, social workers, and speech language pathologists.
Our program offers a unique, blended approach to training that combines technical, employability, and other essential skills. Placements may occur in a variety of employment settings, including Home Care, Nursing Homes/Homes for the Aged, Acute Care Facilities, and other approved care settings that
The program trains Master Trainers and Facilitators, who in turn train parents and other caregivers to use scientifically proven strategies for promoting child development, reducing disruptive behaviors and strengthening their own coping skills.
