This 14-week Powerline Apprentice Program is designed to provide students with the basic skills needed to launch a career with electrical utilities and/or contractors in the area of underground and overhead line work.
This 14-week Powerline Apprentice Program is designed to provide students with the basic skills needed to launch a career with electrical utilities and/or contractors in the area of underground and overhead line work.
Safety will be emphasized throughout the course. In addition, students will have the opportunity to earn certifications in First Aid/CPR, OSHA 10, flagger certification, competent Person in Trenching and Excavation, and a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) this course is registered for Pre-Apprenticeship by the NC Department of Commerce.
Training program is held at the Coastal Carolina Community College (CCCC) campus Monday-Friday from 0730-1630.

The Electrical Engineering Technology program prepares students for a variety of careers in technology, such as computing, networking, communications, electrical power and machinery, process control and automation, robotics, energy management, and transportation.
Any individual who has applied for the apprenticeship program and wants to start working, but has not yet met all qualifications for the apprenticeship program can be placed to work as a Construction Wireman Level 1 if work is available.
This course covers principles of electricity including proper use of test equipment, A/C and D/C circuits, and component theory and operation.
