Propelling Women Into Leadership

The IWIL Training Academy prepares and propels women to pursue elected and appointed positions to advance progressive, Democratic ideals. Our mission is to train Democratic women to run for office at all levels in Illinois.

Illinois Women’s Institute for Leadership (IWIL) Training Academy prepares and trains Democratic, pro-choice women to run for elected office, seek public appointments, and govern effectively at all levels in Illinois.

Each year, we accept a diverse class of twelve women from around the state into our intensive training program. We provide participants with the expertise and support needed to put together successful campaigns and lead in their communities.

To ensure that qualified participants are included, IWIL Training Academy covers all major program expenses, including hotel accommodations, most meals, and out-of-state travel.
