Skills For English

The SQA and PSI created and quality-assured English test skills for people whose first language is not English. SQA is aligned with robust and internationally recognized qualification systems. This ensures that skills for English tests are of the highest standard for both candidates and institutions.

The tests cover six levels (A1, A2, 81, 82, C1, and C2), which map to the Common European Framework of Reference.

Many organizations, including governments, higher education institutions, and university pathway suppliers, have trustworthy and recognized English exam skills.

The United Kingdom Government, specifically the Home Office’s UK Visas and Immigration division, has authorized English language skills for visa applicants. This includes work, student, and spouse visas. All Skills for English examinations have been certified by the Irish Department of Justice for study visa applications.

Skills for English assessments are widely used in higher education institutions around the world. Currently, over 140 institutions in the UK accept Skills for English (SELT), with hundreds more worldwide.

SELT can be used to acquire entry to a number of pathway provider courses, allowing test takers to access even Northern Consortium UK, Study Group, INTO, Kaplan, QA Higher Education, and Malvern House all accept Skills for English qualifications.
