This course teaches you how to harness the power of storytelling and incorporate it into your working life. We will examine the recognisable patterns in stories, and how these patterns bring meaning and engagement.
Using exercises from performance training, we will practice using the classic story structure to present information, as well as exploring other common narrative structures.

Our MRes will give you a detailed critical understanding of the study of stories, storytelling and narrative in English. You will explore a wide range of approaches to storytelling, learning about topics such as folklore, podcasting and story mapping.
This practical course is designed to give you the skills to use the core principles of effective storytelling in business.
Exploring storytelling from two perspectives to improve the impact of your spoken word. 1) From Shakespeare to Tarantino, how to use a narrative structure and 'storyline' to captivate with your presentations. 2) Using powerful anecdotes as qualitative evidence.
