Course overview

This course will provide you with an introduction to the aviation, travel and tourism industry. You will develop the core knowledge and skills needed for a successful career in travel and aviation and find out what life is life in the industry.

The course covers customer service, planning trips to visitor attractions and travel destinations, how to recommend holidays, the difference between different types of airline, the role of cabin crew and holiday reps, how to manage your rights and responsibilities in the workplace and building working relationships with customers and colleagues.

  • The aviation industry

  • Aviation terminology

  • Teamwork

  • Preparing for employment

  • Locational geography

  • Hospitality in tourism

What are the entry requirements?

You must have achieved an appropriate Entry Level vocational qualification and/or GCSEs at grade 2-1 (E-F) or above.

How will I be assessed?

There will be a number of assessments during the course including role-plays, assignments, interviews and portfolio work.

What can I do next?

On the successful completion of Level 1 Travel and Aviation you can progress onto the Level 2 Travel and Tourism course or the Level 2 Aviation Operations.
