WordPress Fundamental

This WordPress design and development evening course consists of a series of lectures and practical workshops aimed at developing the necessary skills to create and maintain your own personal website or portfolio.

You will be introduced to the WordPress system in order to learn how to build a stunning and original website using the tricks and tools of the user friendly WordPress platform. You will be introduced to the content management systems (CMS) and discover how easily these websites created and how to build and maintain your own content.

This course provides a practical, entry-level focus on how to build content with one of the world’s most popular CMSs, WordPress. By learning the building blocks of this platform – themes, posts, categories, pages, plugins, and widgets – you will go on to design and create your own website and see just how easy it is for anyone to do.

• Setting up a domain and hosting account

• Installing WordPress on CPanel

• Using WordPress as a content management system (CMS)

• Planning and design your website by choosing color schemes, fonts, layouts, and more

• Searching for themes in WordPress

• Selecting, install, and activate a theme

• Adding posts to your website

• Creating website pages (static pages, home pages)

• Adding images, photo galleries, and other features

• Using widgets and plugins

• The basics of how to create an ecommerce site

• Basic coding and customisation
