Sailing Yacht: Take sailing lessons on Auckland Harbour aboard 'French Connection', a modern 32 foot Beneteau Oceanis. The 'French Connection' has a tiller, not a wheel, to give a totally hands-on experience. All the equipment is modern and easy to use.
Sailing Courses: The Sailing Away programmes cater for beginners to advanced sailing. Courses cover all practical aspects of helmsmenship, seamanship, personal safety and navigation. Gain an internationally recognised Royal Yachting Association (R.Y.A) qualification.
LTS Adult Dinghy is a five or 10 session course over five weeks for those aged 16 and above, designed to teach you the basics of dinghy sailing. There will be lots of fun and plenty of adventures including both group and individual sailing.
Our course consists of an introductory day on a trailer yacht followed by a day onshore doing theory then seven days on the water tuition on a Laser dinghy, nine days in total.
If you or someone you know would like to learn to sail, we may be just what you are looking for. All instructors are Yachting New Zealand qualified and place an equal importance on the safety of the student and enjoyment of the course to create a positive environment in which to learn.
Paremata Boating Club offers an adult Learn to Sail program. This covers YNZ level 1 and is done using using our 2-person club Topaz yachts. These have proven to be an excellent platform for learning to sail for 1 or 2 people.
Yacht clubs are a fun, social and safe environment in which to learn to sail and make new friends. New sailors can benefit from the advice, support and experience of others. Programmes are taught by qualified coaches, providing a great experience.
