You will also learn how to process customer and supplier transactions, enter receipts and payments into the cash book and check amounts against the bank statement in preparation for bank reconciliation.
The course consists of an end of learning assessment, this assessment will measure the level of skills gained during the course. The course is designed and delivered in conjunction with the Association Accounting Technicians and an industry recognised bookkeeping award.
The course takes 10 weeks to complete and students would be expected to complete tasks both inside and outside the classroom.
You will be introduced to the dual effect of transactions which will support you if you choose to study bookkeeping at foundation level. You will understand the role of a bookkeeper and simple bookkeeping techniques, as well as the buying and selling process and the common documents used. The unit also includes recording transactions in the books of prime entry.
The award will give anyone the basic skills required to manage basic bookkeeping files and information, whether you need skills for a career change, starting your own business or developing your understanding of basic bookkeeping.
Completion of this course will allow you to progress to the next level of accountancy in order to gain further experience and skills in accountancy.
