Our 2 days Abrasive Wheel Train the Trainer course enables you to become an instructor delivering effective Abrasive Wheel Training to operatives in various industries.

This course is suitable for beginners, up to experienced practitioners. We incorporate all levels of experience within the training. 

This course embraces the requirements under The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER 98) and HASWA 1974. Covering selection, mounting and the safe working practices when using abrasive wheels.

The machines we discuss are the angle grinder, chop saw, petrol cutter (Stihl Saw) and bench grinders. With an industry experience of 20 plus years our training is developed to be interactive and informative.

 

This abrasive wheel trainer course is suitable for training operatives in industries such as, but not limited to:

  • Logistics or Warehouse

  • Offshore and Marine Industries

Course Aim:

To enable candidates to carry out their own courses, training operatives in safe selection, mounting and working practices when using abrasive wheels, in accordance with the relevant regulations and guidance.

 

Learning Outcome:  

By the end of the course, the participant will be able to display an understanding of:

  • Types of wheels, markings, manufacture

  • Standard Marking System

  • Storage, handling and transportation

  • Methods of testing

  • Blotters, flanges, locknuts, mounting and balancing

  • Wheel dressing, adjustment of the tool rest

  • Requirements of the regulations - HASWA 1974, PUWER 1998

  • Safe working practices when using machines.

  • Structuring and delivering the training

  • Practical assessments, testing their trainees

 

Certification:

The attendee will receive City & Guilds Profile of Achievement Award & National Training Services Certification.
