Prerequisite: ACCT-0003/0053 Financial Accounting 1 Students complete computerized accounting cycles for a variety of organizations using both SAGE 50 and QuickBooks Accounting Software packages. To varying degrees with each software, students are exposed to the following components: General Journal/Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Payroll, Inventory and Order Entry. Functionality related to System Set-up, Sales Taxes, Banking, Periodic Processing and Financial Reporting are also explored. Students apply computerized accounting techniques to each step of the accounting cycle.

Our Parkland campus, which also includes a Centre for Adult Learning, is located in Dauphin, Manitoba. At our Winnipeg campus, we deliver our Practical Nursing program and continuing studies courses.

Learn to perform daily accounting tasks using Sage 50 Accounting, which is used by many businesses in BC. Explore the home window and learn the core functionality while accessing the important modules containing the accounting journals used to enter business transactions.
This course introduces the basic set up and operation of the Sage 50 software package. Topics include: setting up the company profile; entering transactions using accounts payable and accounts receivable; payroll; printing and displaying financial statements; performing bank reconciliations.
SAGE 50 is a widely used accounting and business management software previously known as Simply Accounting. Training is offered to individuals and businesses. You can learn the software on two levels.
Sage 50 Bootcamp training is offered by University of Alberta for all skill level. The Alberta School of Business supports students’ technical skill development by offering courses in many Accounting software programs.
Diploma from Citi College of Canadian Careers. The Computerized Accounting diploma program prepares students in business computer applications such as QuickBooks, Sage 50, Sage 300, and students will also learn hands-on experience in the application of key accounting concepts.
