This course satisfies the Advanced Firefighting training requirements of STCW Code Section A-VI/3 and 46 CFR 11.201(h), and 11.303(a). Upon meeting the minimum standard of competence in advanced firefighting, a trainee will be competent to take command, organize and train fire parties.

The seafarer will have acquired knowledge of fire prevention and an ability to inspect and service fire detection and extinguishing systems and equipment. He/she will also be able to investigate and report on incidents involving fire.
