At present, there are four AMI Montessori centres in India. The courses run by these centres maintain the highest international academic standards required by AMI. Successful students are awarded an AMI diploma that is internationally recognised.
IMF was born at the 26th International Montessori Congress held at Kalakshetra Foundation in January 2009. It was founded with a vision of enabling children to reach their full potential through the principles of Montessori education leading towards a more harmonious and peaceful world.Being a voluntary organisation, run by volunteers across India and abroad, it has brought together like minded Montessori practitioners, educators and experts who are in service of the children through various platforms.
Its inception also transformed and merged two earlier local voluntary organisations – the Montessori India AMI Alumni and the Madras Montessori study circle.IMF also brings out two publications – The Touch Board and Montessori Matters. By organising talks, workshops and Montessori conferences, IMF serves as a common platform that shares information on important issues in education today.
The training involves a balanced mix of theoretical and practical sessions which contributes in the holistic development of the teachers.
