The only prerequisite is a desire to bring a story to life.
Students learn to use OpenToonz, a free software used by famed animation studio Studio Ghibli (Ponyo, My Neighbour Totoro)
BEGINNER: Learn the interface and navigation of OpenToonz to create short sequences, building skills in character, background and audio to eventually produce their own their own short animation in Term 4 production term.
ADVANCED: Simulating an animation studio environment, students will work individually to contribute to the production of a single animated project.
Since 2003, we’ve taught Screen Acting, Film-making, Animation and Game Design to young people aged 7-18yrs, plus a range of other holiday, school & community workshops.

3D Animation Foundations is designed to introduce students to the many career opportunities available for 3D artists, animators and designers. This course gives students an understanding of the creative potential of the 3D animation software used in the games, film and visual effects industry.
The classes require patience and focus and the hard work always pays off as the magic of animation comes to life when students watch their creations at the end of the course.
This is a specialty workshop working with 2D animation or Stop Motion / Claymation. This is designed for groups of up to 25 students.
The course breaks-down the art of sequential storytelling into a step-by-step process. Students will transform a script excerpt from an animated film into a dynamic visual narrative.
