This course involves the skills and knowledge required to apply work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations and codes of practices in the electrotechnology workplace.
It includes applying safe working practices, following workplace procedures for hazard identification and risk control.
It also includes electrotechnology worker responsibilities and application for health and safety, risk management and adherence to safety practices as part of electrotechnology work functions when preparing to enter a work area.
The learners most likely to undertake UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace are either existing workers in the industry or new entrants who need to complete the new UETDRMP007 – Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel since this is one of the pre-requisite units that needs to be completed prior to commencing UETDRMP007 unit.
This unit may also be completed by new entrants who may wish to achieve this unit of competency as a stand-alone unit by itself since this unit is included in more than 10 different training packages (e.g: UEG, UEP, NWP, UET, MEM, CPC, TLI, AHC, CUA and UEE as listed where they may need to demonstrate their competency to meet their WHS requirements.
The existing workers in the industry have previous knowledge and skills, those who may not are given extra support and time as required.
The course is flexible in nature to allow for learners differing knowledge and skill levels.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
