This course covers the properties of asbestos and its effects on health including the increased risk for asbestos workers who smoke. Detail is provided on the types, uses and likely occurrence of asbestos and ACMs in buildings and plant and the procedures to be followed when dealing with an emergency in the workplace involving an uncontrolled release of asbestos. The course meets the requirements of the Asbestos at Work Regulations 2012 and the Approved Code of Practice.
