This Asbestos Awareness course has been developed to meet and exceed both Federal and Provincial standards. It will guide you through all aspects from the hazards associated with Asbestos and how to protect yourself with safe work practices.

The course features in-depth information on how to work safety around materials containing asbestos whether you are working directly with asbestos materials or simply working in the same building, this will help you identify the hazards of this substance and how to function while keeping safety in mind.

A test for each applicant will be given at the end of the course. All participants who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate of completion.

  • What is Asbestos?

  • What was it used for?

  • Where can it be found?

  • Who is affected?

  • Types of Asbestos:

    • Type 1 presenting little hazard to workers or bystanders

    • Type 2 creating exposure exceeding acceptable limits

    • Type 3 covers major exposures that exceed acceptable limits posing serious risks to workers and bystanders (note: Type 3 is not covered in this course)

  • Asbestos health risks

  • Regulations and exposure limits related to Asbestos.

  • Asbestos safe work practices.
