Atmospheric Testing And Gas Detection

This course will provide the knowledge and skills required to determine whether there are any harmful gases, including high or low levels of oxygen or excessive levels of toxic and flammable gases that could pose a danger to humans or the environment. This will include conducting and interpreting gas test results to identify related hazards within the chemical and energy industry.

Please note: Assessment for unit standard 3058 must be carried out at an energy or chemical site.
Examples include; petrochemical, agri-nutrient, power generation, dairy processing, meat processing, and wood fibre manufacturing, or other plants that operate with a combination of high temperatures, pressures, steam and/or chemicals in gas, liquid or solid form
