Who is it for?

  • Economics is comprised of three main parts: microeconomics (studying consumers, businesses, and markets); macroeconomics (the performance of a country’s economy); and econometrics (analysing economic data). Each part provides valuable problem-solving tools, critical in business and public policy.

What you’ll study
You will complete a program in Economics comprised of foundational studies in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics and an embedded major in your choice of:

  • Econometrics
  • Economics
  • Environmental, Agricultural and Resource Economics
  • Financial Economics

If you meet the entry and progression criteria, you can elect to complete the Advanced Economics program, which serves as a pathway to Honours in Economics.

You will also complete a major or minor from a broad range of subject areas (see ‘Shared pool’ below), including business, STEM, social sciences, and humanities. Additionally, you will complete units of study from the Open Learning Environment and any elective units needed to make up the required credit points for the course.
