Ballet is the foundation of dance technique and is carried over to most other dance styles. At EDS we hold the highest regard for the training of our ballet dancers. Ballet is fundamental in the development of the dancer and is therefore and mandatory component in our competitive program.
All of our instructors have studied vigorously to ensure the next generation of dancers is given the knowledge and confidence to execute steps and perform to their greatest potential.
RAD exams classes are offered for those who wish to achieve certification and in the future have the option of pursuing a teaching career.
Elite Dance Studio opened its doors 53 years ago in Kanata, Ontario offering excellent training to students dancing for recreational enjoyment or later to join our competitive program.
Our 3 air-conditioned studios have raised, sprung Rosco floors for safety and comfort. Our class sizes are limited, offering each student the best individual attention.
After an appropriate amount of Ballet is studied, dancers may begin training “en pointe”. Dancing in toe shoes requires strength and correct body alignment. Dancers must be at least 12 years of age and have instructor’s approval.
Classical training develops strength, flexibility, correct posture, coordination, and overall grace. This carefully designed program benefits the recreational as well as the professional oriented student.

A classical style of dance that focuses on poise, technique, fluidity, and form, providing the foundation for most styles of dance. Students develop more advanced technical skills through barre work, centre exercises, and stretch.
