Basic Life Support(BLS)

This course covers the health care provider standards of CPR for adults, children, and infants as well as choking procedures and AED. It is designed for participants that:

• work in the health care setting such as
  • nurses
  • sports medicine
  • medical and dental professionals
• other targeted responders such as
  • fire services
  • lifeguards
  • response teams

• Scene management and primary assessment
• Anatomy and physiology
• Shock
• Artificial respiration
• Advanced CPR for adults, children and infants
• Automated external defibrillation (AED)
• Choking procedures
• Use of barrier device and bag-valve mask (BVM)
• Heart attack, angina, stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA)
