Issues such as “measure twice, cut once”, errors of parallax, inside and outside measurements are addressed in great detail. Various measuring tools are used and the appropriate setting for each is taught. The module concludes with a measuring exercise.

Many people will be delighted when a small component of an engine or a piece of old furniture can still be handmade.
The home hobbyist can learn woodworking skills or find help with a tricky bit of machining. The purpose of this qualification is to provide the student with upholstery skills to enable him/her to enter into a career in furniture production.

The classes are small - maximum of 6 students in the Beginner's and Intermediate classes and a maximum of 4 in the Adv anced class
Level 1 of the Woodworking Foundation Course.
