Who needs this training?

This course is for workers who work in an industrial environment and are regulated by the 851 industrial regulations.

 

Why?
Since 2006 40% of workers’ death in construction was caused by falls and 60% of these workers were not using any or poor fall protection equipment when it happened.

WSIB claims that one in every five lost-time injuries are the result of a fall and that most falls are preventable.

This course is a legal obligation for anyone working at heights of more than 3 meters above ground level.

LaborTek Safety Training has built its course around the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act of Ontario.

 

Course outline:

  • Understand the legal responsibilities of employers, workers, and supervisors.

  • Identify the proper equipment and the right procedures for protection against falls.

  • Apply fall prevention practices when using ladders, scaffolds, covers, guardrails etc.

  • Identify equipment hazards, and perform maintenance and inspection of equipment.
